Does anyone use this card, and if so, how? I almost never see it played and when I have it in a deck it usually ends up being pitched for energy because it’s so expensive. Granted, it would combo well with Dawn, but that’s about all I can think of. Anyone come up with some creative ways to use this card?

I use it in my Green/Yellow/Red deck as a late game minion(yes I actually have enough energy to use it in that deck) and in my Black/Blue deck for energy conversion, and later, Reanimate target.

I use this card often as a strong finisher as both a ramp goal, and as a reanimate target.

I am likely overpaying for it when I am ramping to it, but I am fine with that.

I have a green/black deck that plays 4 of this with reanimate and I don’t go in with the gameplan of playing it, but I have reached the 8 energy necessary in several matches and had a lot of success with the deck.

a larger issue to me is that green is the only color without a reasonable 5 energy play. ant invasion is good in a token strategy, but thats it.

Blue has killer wave, which fits in almost all blue decks. Red has hideous ogre, a terrific card Yellow has General Leon which is very good Black has reanimate, one of the best cards in the game Black also has Ghoul lord which is definitely playable Purple has Maneater, which just hoses a number of strategies Purple also has Colossus, which is very good.

Now I understand that green also has more large creatures at 6+ than any other color so it may balance itself out, but it would still be nice to see a reasonable option for green in that spot.

Agreed, if/when we get more cards, a sold green 5 cost needs to be one of them. Probably another largish ally with either armor or regenerate, fitting with green’s theme.

Well I have an idea for a 5 cost card

Name: Mountain Giant

Cost: GG3

Stats: 5/5

Ability: Armor 1, Pay G1 this card gets +1/+1 until end of turn. This can only be used once per turn.

The idea with this card is you’d effectively have a 6/6 if you pay for it each turn and it has that nice armor 1 too.

How about this?

Destructive Troll

3GG

When this enters play, you may destroy an object.

5 AP / 5 HP

Could also be typed as ants, like Destructive Swarm or something.

If you want it to be an ant ally then call it something like Ant Devastator or Ant Annihilator. That’d be an interesting card though, since greens only object removal is Fresh Force, also a huge ant is a plus.

I like the idea of a creature that destroys objects.

and a 5/5 to boot gives it a great way to deal with objects without having to play conditional spells. I also like that it is a may, as sometimes the player that plays the spell will have the only object.

I like it as well. Objects can get out of hand and it gives a dedicated green player something more than just fresh force. Options are always good. Most importantly it should be a fun card.

More Vampires would also be pretty awesome. I know that the life draining gain could be pretty overpowered if the creature gets too big, but I think that continuing the path set by current Vampires (+1/+1 at a cost of +2 mana) would be acceptable, like BB3 3/3 Gain life equal to the damage this creature inflicts. . If it had a tagged on ability that was the reverse of the Skeletons, that’d be pretty awesome too. Something like When this card enters play, remove 1 card from your opponent’s graveyard.
