I don’t know if there are cards like this in the game:

  • when X enters play, destroy all other creatures
  • when X enters play, deal 1 damage to all creatures
  • when X enters play, deal 1 damage to all opponents creatures
  • when X dies, deal 2 damage to all creatures

Maybe we can have card that, when played, benches all traps in your deck.

We can call him, Enigmatic Challenger.

That would be insanely OP and broken. Not a good idea.

I’m not sure if you caught my sarcasm, since it requires knowledge in another CCG.

In Hearthstone, there is a card called Mysterious Challenger that essentially has the effect I mentioned. It’s pretty OP and everyone cries for a nerf. Since shukaku was mentioning card equivalents from Hearthstone, I thought I would jokingly mention one of the controversial one.

In Orbs where we have some pretty devastating (and expensive) traps, the tempo swing would be absolutely enormous. I agree we cannot have a card in that form in this game.

Even the following seems overpowered to me:

{4}, exhaust: Choose a trap in your deck with cost 4 or less. Bench that trap.

It seems just too strong. Maybe the following is fair:

{4}, exhaust: Choose a trap in your deck. Put that card into your hand.

What are the traps we’d have a problem with if we did this? the 3 black destroy traps I see as an issue, the yellow and green traps that can make creatures are pretty nice, and obviously you’d have the insane lock with interfere and the creature killers.

I would be intrigued to see a card like this that can give me incentive to play decoy, which would be fun.

Ah, okay. I don’t play Hearthstone so I had no idea. :)

I think the power level of the traps are too high for an effect like the 1st one your mentioned. For a premium of 1 or 2 mana, I can dig into my deck and choose a game ending trap.

The 2nd one seems reasonable. Card draw is priced at a premium in this game (in my opinion anyways). Hidden Treasure draws a card for 4, so a trap-specific card draw for 4 seems OK.

This feedback is coming from a card game novice though.
